Friday Update

Good Afternoon,

What an amazing week we have had here at Stawamus School!  The Learning Expeditions students have been hard at work creating their incredible documentaries about Howe Sound.  They are finding locations to shoot their documentaries and creating footage to include in their final project.  Cultural Journeys has also had a busy week.   The Pit Cook was a wonderful experience for everyone.  The kids prepared the food, the pit and the leaves.  They were involved in traditional first nation ceremonies that explained the purpose of the pit cook and the importance of feeding the community.

We are looking forward to the many activities over the next 2 weeks for both Learning Expeditions and Cultural Journeys.

ABORIGINAL SPORTS DAY  will be held on Tuesday, June 15th.  Each class will be highlighting a traditional sport for other Cultural Journeys classes. Students will be outside for a good portion of the day. Please ensure students are dressed appropriately for the weather and bring water bottles.
